Owner:  Eric Peterson started Specialty Marine in 2002.  His business plan was simple, yet rarely practiced in the marine repair business: simply provide timely, polite and quality service.  We have been steadily growing ever since.  In 2006 Honda named Specialty Marine the #1 Honda Marine dealer in California for sales volume AND customer satisfaction.

Eric is a certified Honda technician, completed Spader Marine Management School, and has a Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering from UC Santa Barbara.

Service Manager:  Judy Gelsinger has over 23 years experience managing marine shops.  Her experience includes engine sales, repair estimates, parts orders, warranty claims, retail financing and accounting.  Judy has a Bachelors in Business, completed Spader Marine Management School, and was a Sargent in the Marines! 

Please don't call her "the secretary": she knows more about boats than most mechanics (and customers!) do.

Lead Technician:  Jeff Gelsinger has over 22 years experience repairing marine engines.  Jeff has completed Honda’s Master Mechanic course.  He is a certified technician for Mercruiser / Volvo I/O's and Force outboards.  Jeff has extensive experience repairing Johson/Evinrude, Yamaha, Suzuki, Mercury, Tohatsu and just about every other brand of outboard. From diagnosing tricky problems, to complete engine rebuilding, to intalling engines, you won't find a more knowledgeable and experienced marine mechanic anywhere.  And you should see his toolbox and special tools!
